Cooking Holidays In Rome
Italy has always been known as a destination with a rich cultural history, and has one of the most recognised cuisines in the world.
Whether it’s a Panini at lunchtime or a nice big plate of spaghetti Bolognese for dinner, Italian food is one of the most popular choices amongst families, thanks largely to its ease of preparation.
Indeed, some regions of Italy have become famous for their food and wine, and many of us flock to villas in the mountains of Tuscany and on the outskirts of Rome to sample good rustic cooking, and have a go at making them ourselves.
With flights to Rome and other major Italian cities becoming cheaper and more accessible, cooking holidays are helping to lure budding chefs to picturesque locations around the country.
Many of these cottages, vineyards and villas are within easy reach of airports, meaning you could take advantage of cheap flights to Rome and a variety of other destinations in order to reach them, most of which will offer a pickup service from the airport for a small fee.
Cooking holidays can range from a few days to a week, depending on location, and your accommodation is usually included in the price of the package. Every day you get to try and prepare a dish from the region, under the watchful eye of a professional chef, and then get the chance to sample what you’ve cooked in a dinner at the end of the day – along with a little of the local wine.
For those who are looking to combine exercise with cookery, there are many packages out there which combine the two. Well-being holidays are useful for those who want to take time out to relax in idyllic settings, including mountainside retreats and villas along the coast.
You could, of course, combine your stay with a city break, perhaps hotels in Rome or other cities in order to prolong your Italian excursion. Indeed, this is a popular choice for those who want to prepare and sample Italian cuisine, as well as experience the atmosphere of an authentic Italian restaurant.
